If a major event ride is returning for its thirty-sixth year, you know they must be doing something right. The ACTC has put together a winning combination: the nicest routes, the nicest time of the year, the nicest rest stops, and some of the nicest hosts in the world. For families and beginners, there is a 60K/1,000ft

route that takes in Uvas and Chesbro Reservoirs, per- fect if you haven’t done too much riding this season. If you’re a stronger rider, you may want to try the
100K, which begins with morning tour of the Cañada Loop before taking in the aforementioned Lakes Loop. With 2,500 feet of climbing, you’ll get a nice workout. Experienced riders will want to take on the full cen-
tury, which features over 6,000 feet of climbing! This route is basically the 100K with an out-n-back to Henry Coe State Park (via Dunne Avenue) and a Bailey Avenue to Calero County Park tour. If this all sounds like child’s play to you, you’re
probably ready to take on the 200K challenge. Recommended for über-cyclists only, this option takes the century route, and tacks on pleasant little climb to the summit of Hicks Road! The very next weekend (actually, they need to start
on Thursday, to fit in all the fun) the cycle excitement just keeps on rolling! Ask kids where they’d like to go (if they could go anywhere) and they’d probably say
