past ten years and I just hope that we are now about to turn the corner and get some

manufacturing in Newport it must mean that we have become to some extent more reliant upon services – and we have. When I was a boy the then ‘town centre’ was


the place to do business. Today it’s the periphery of the city where business and particularly service business is done. From Celtic Springs in the west to Langstone in the east the last ten years has
