Junior Jumper Natasha Hewitt
Her Equestrian Life. . .
Hi everyone, I hope you’ve had a great month despite the cold weather. Luckily the nights are getting lighter and the weather can only get warmer. I have had a great month my ponies are jumping amazingly well. I couldn’t ask for any more from them! This year is my final year on ponies so I’m trying to make the most of it and enjoy the time I have left with them as I love them so much! I’m very excited about this year as I have two amazing ponies and lots of shows planned. I hope you enjoy reading about what I’ve been doing!
Spellbound Wizard is a new pony that I am riding until his owner is big enough for him. He has a very scopey jump and a heart of gold! He has qualified for the Discovery second rounds and I’m going to try and qualify him for the Newcomers second rounds this year. I already have two of the four double clears I need. At our first
show at Bury Farm we won the Discovery (90cm) and went double clear in the Newcomers (1m) in which we were placed 5th. I was very pleased as there were about 45 in each class. He is very easy to ride, always tries his best and every time I ride him he gives me so much confidence! He did very well last year with his last rider and
I’m hoping he will do the same with me.
Thyme For A Lady (Rosie) is an absolute superstar! She has qualified for the Discovery second rounds, Newcomers Second Rounds and Scope Adventurer 2012! She has endless talent and no track is too big for her! She is very fast against the clock and can turn on a sixpence. I have taken her to one show so far, it was at Moorhouse Equestrian Centre. She jumped very well and won the Newcomers (1m) and came 4th in the Adventurer Qualifier (1m10) This year my main aims are to try and qualify her for the Newcomers final at HOYS 2012 and the Winter JC Final at The Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead. Rosie is a great pony and I’m very lucky to have her.
I am also looking forward to getting a horse from Belgium called Eldarado Van Klinkenhoff or Ellie as she is known in the stable. She is 15.3hh and is a graded broodmare. She was graded elite

and won the grading, she scored 99/100, with her nearest rival scoring 65/100. I can’t wait for her to come over to England for me and my sister to start riding and competing her. A huge thank you goes to Paul for finding me such a great horse, I am very lucky to have such amazing friends. I will put a lot more information about Ellie and how we are getting on together in my next column.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about me and my ponies. Next time I will be writing about how I have done at the shows such as Scope and Hickstead qualifiers and how I am getting on with Ellie.
