he Greater Houston Builders Association recently announced its 2011 “Of the Year” awards for
the top production builder, custom builder, developer, remodeler and associate. Presidential Citations were also announced. Awards were presented by 2012 GHBA President Will Holder, outgoing President Mike Dishberger, and Eddie Martin, past GHBA president and master of ceremonies at the 71st Anniversary Extravaganza held at Lakeside Country Club.

The Production Builder of the Year 2011 was awarded to Newmark Homes Houston LLC. Newmark, headed by Mike Moody, has been involved with government affairs, HOME-PAC, the Volume Builders Committee and the GHBA board of directors, as well as setting a new record for constructing and selling a Benefit Home, a GHBA charity project, for $336,250.

quality work and caring hearts led to a significant contribution to helping the homeless of Houston. Morning Star built a Southern Living Showcase Home and awarded a portion of the proceeds from home tours to HomeAid Houston.
Developer of the Year 2011 was presented to The Howard Hughes Corporation – Bridgeland, LP. Bridgeland, led by Peter Houghton, vice president master planned communities, has been active with the Developers Council and the GHBA Benefit Homes Project, donating three lots to this
