Lightweights for economy and business class

At Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012, RECARO Aircraft Seating is presenting the latest highlights from its economy class portfolio – from short-haul to long-haul products. Alongside the extremely comfortable CL3620, with the latest Thales and Panasonic video screens, RECARO is showing its successfully launched BL3520 seat, featuring great weight savings and ingenious design. The BL3520 is being exhibited in a range of equipment variants, including models with headrests and seats with integrated video monitors. In addition, RECARO Aircraft Seating will introduce an innovation for the business class segment: The company is unveiling a new business class seat for short-haul flights which offers passengers more comfort and living space. The seat has a fixed shell that allows the passenger to change the seat position without disturbing the other passengers. The sophisticated kinematic system gives the passenger the ability to move the seat to pre-programmed positions at the push of a button.

EAM announce another successful year

Design based on MRO heritage TIMCO Aerosystems has focused on two concepts to guide the design of its FeatherWeight™ series of seats,

galleys and lavatories: lighter weight and lower maintenance burden. As one of the world’s largest MRO providers, TIMCO knows through its aircraft inspections and repairs the implications product design can have on total cost to the operator. Accordingly, the company applies what it learns to its new products so they are lighter and require less maintenance over their lifetime. For example, TIMCO’s new lavatory is 20% lighter than comparable lavatories. The use of innovative materials plays a key role, but design features such as removing excess weight from non-load bearing walls have also contributed. The consolidation of cabinets, paper dispensers and waste receptacles below the counter has reduced weight, as well as lowering the maintenance problems posed by paper accumulating in the sink drain. TIMCO’s FeatherWeight™

passenger seats are also among the lightest seats in their product categories. By

adjusting the position of trays, pockets and cushions, the resulting seats are thinner while actually affording passengers greater comfort.

Lighting up 2012

Madelec Aero is launching several new products for 2012, which will include an extensive range of affordable, drop in replacement LED tube lights (115v 400hz). The “STAGE ONE” LED tube lights have an integral power supply which can connect to the aircraft wiring. These tubes have been designed to fit directly into the existing aircraft light fittings.

The advantages include: reduced maintenance and overall weight, much improved energy efficiency and reduced heat compared with Flo Tubes, whilst providing

perfect dimmable 0 -100% LED lighting for any cabin. Coloured versions are also available at the same cost. Established in 1994, Madelec Aero has comprehensive facilities for the design, development, manufacture and support of standard and specialty products for use in the aerospace industry. Specialising in Aircraft Interior LED lighting, from commercial aircraft 1 meter diameter “Dome lighting” to military NVG cockpit illumination, Madelec has supplied over 150 airlines with parts and support directly from its manufacturing facility in France and worldwide distribution partners. Madelec is involved in the commercial, VIP and military aircraft and helicopter markets comprising OEM,

EAM Worldwide has been awarded an exclusive patent for its floatation assembly with monitoring device - specifically its application of RFID technology in the life vest. In addition, the Company received the prestigious certifications for excellence in process management including ISO 9001:2008 certification for general recognition and AS9100:C for distinction in the aerospace industry. EAM has also officially launched the new, competitively-priced EAM-T56 life raft, which is the largest-capacity raft that EAM has manufactured to-date. At Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012, EAM will present live demonstrations of Tag the Craft™
