Genuine solutions

Yarwood Leather Ltd is launching two new products at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012. Yarwood NT is its latest lightweight genuine leather that offers enhanced durability at a weight of only 420gsm. Being a genuine of leather, it offers the same aesthetic appeal and sense of luxury that airlines have come to expect whilst reducing the average economy pax weight by approximately 1kg. On a maximum configuration A380, this has the potential to reduce weight by nearly 1 tonne. Continuing in Yarwood’s commitment to

offering a fully integrated supply, Seat Cover Solutions is a new service which allows airlines to source leather seat covers from the manufacturers of the leather. This vertically integrated supply ensures that economical and fixed priced covers can be supplied in shorter lead times and with higher quality.

Improve galley insert performance

Monogram Systems, a division of Zodiac Aerospace, will present its all- new Symphony™

suite of galley inserts.

A leader in the field with more than 80,000 galley inserts flying on wide and narrow body commercial aircraft, regional and corporate jets, Monogram has designed the system to include steam and convection ovens, a beverage chiller, coffeemaker, trash compactor and water heater. Celebrated for its reliability, weight conservation and overall performance, Monogram’s precision suite consumes minimal power and offers user-friendly universal controls across the entire suite. Available in both ARINC and ATLAS standards, making it suitable for a wide range of commercial aircraft, Symphony ushers in a whole new era in server efficiency and passenger dining satisfaction.

Lighter components for aerospace applications

New for condensation prevention

Liebherr-Aerospace will present examples of its products and systems for the cabin interiors segment, covering cooling systems for cockpit, galleys and avionics, electrical heating systems as well as cockpit and cabin air humidification systems.

Piccolo ducts

Aerospace engineers are continually striving to introduce lighter weight designs, a key factor in achieving optimal fuel efficiency and reduced operating costs. Victrex Polymer Solutions is addressing this challenge with its VICTREX®

PEEK™

polymer that has successfully displaced aluminium, titanium, stainless steel and magnesium, as well as traditional thermoset composites in a growing number of aerospace applications. It is able to do this because of its unique combination of properties such as specific strength, stiffness and fatigue resistance; it is also exceptionally strong, inert, flame retardant and can be easily fabricated into tight tolerance parts. With a reputation for innovation, Victrex Polymer Solutions’ success is built on its ability to work with customers to address the issues that matter to them. Working collaboratively from the design through to mass production phase, the large portfolio of products provides numerous solutions for aerospace engineers. One significant recent introduction is VICTREX Pipes™

, an innovative,

next-generation solution for modern aircraft design offering significant weight saving potential while satisfying the most stringent safety, quality and performance regulations within the industry.

Electrical Heater Valve

Heat exchanger (optional)

Liebherr-Aerospace has recently introduced a new patented dry’air system that makes it possible to prevent the excessive condensation phenomenon that can occur in aircraft. Consequences of excessive condensation can be corrosion effects, electrical failure or premature replacement of insulations blankets. Another drawback is higher fuel consumption linked to additional weight of water in the aircraft, which leads to increased CO2 emissions. Highly reliable and light weight, the Liebherr dry’air system is supported by an “on condition” maintenance programme designed to save operational costs. It can be used alone or combined with humidifier systems that improve the passengers’ comfort.
