Introducing AURA One

Intelligent Avionics has introduced

AURA One, a fast and inexpensive way for airlines to replace old tape- based (or early digital) head-ends with an ultra lightweight, flexible, and powerful digital content server. AURA One requires no changes to existing wiring or overhead screens, and utilises the same single, crew-friendly head-end component as the AURA Works embedded IFE system. This common LRU provides an easy path to upgrade some or the entire cabin with the 99.99% reliable AURA Works seatback screens.

AURA One quickly pays for itself through

reduced logistics and maintenance costs, and airlines get a much more powerful overhead media, advertising, and promotional system that can be easily programmed to fit varying routes and passenger profiles. Passengers will also enjoy a much better picture and sound quality.

Improve appearance and maintenance

TTF Aerospace LLC has developed a specific product to improve the appearance and maintenance of passenger stowage bins. T-Skin®

is an easily installed, abrasion resistant lining system designed to provide a fresh, new look

for old bins or prevent damage to new bins. Stowage bins receive hard service. Their interiors are quickly cut, scuffed and punctured, reflecting a damaged and unmaintained impression to passengers. T-Skin® “peel and stick” application. When applied, T-Skin®

performance for operators. To manage current stowage bin maintenance, aircraft are taken out of service for extensive repair and repaint cycles. Each re-paint is a temporary fix lasting about 18 -24 months, burdening the aircraft with additional weight that can equal hundreds of pounds. T-Skin®

is a lightweight sheet material with excellent finish and colour

characteristics and can endure honest passenger treatment. Matched with TTF’s custom adhesive system it offers the perfect balance of high performance and easy maintenance. Easily applied using sized die cut sheets, a whole 737-800 can be “re-finished” in approximately six hours. When installed, the panels present a new decorative finish bin interior to passengers. T-Skin®

is intended to be removed, replaced and recycled eliminating weight growth to the aircraft and

providing a lifetime of fresh, durable stowage bin interiors. T-Skin®

Advantages

• Better look and feel than paint • Can be installed anywhere in an overnight layover • Water-based adhesive removes catalyzed fillers, paints and solvents

• Increases damage resistance • Is easily cleaned • Lifetime weight savings of hundreds of pounds versus painting • Local damage can be fixed with re-application of a single sheet • T-Skin®

is recyclable under code #3

• Proprietary adhesive provides long term, residue-free performance T-Skin®

is also

• Trademarked and Patent Pending • Completed one year of service with a major carrier • Fully flammability tested and FAA compliant • Dramatically more cost effective than paint

Designing the Future

Premium aircraft interiors manufacturer, Contour Aerospace Ltd, will once again be exhibiting an exciting range of its Business and First-Class seats at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012. Last year’s Expo saw the world exclusive unveiling of Contour’s innovative concept seat, the Not For Wimps, and the company has been busy developing new ideas to unveil this year. Joint Managing Director, Ian Plummer, said: “Contour has a proven track-

record of blazing a trail in innovative aircraft interiors.” “We were the first company to fit a fully lie-flat bed into a British Airways Fleet as well as creating the world’s commercial airline first swivel seat, installed in the American Airlines Flagship Suite.” “Last year’s revolutionary concept seat is testament to the fact that we continue to push boundaries in what can be achieved in aircraft interiors and we are excited about unveiling a range of innovative ideas at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012.”
