The Ontario Trail Riders Association Inc, established in 1970, is an equestrian organization which promotes recreational trail riding and the creation, development, preservation and safe use of trails.

News from the Board

Please be sure to mark your calendars for the Annual General Meeting in Orangeville on April 22, 2012. We have Mark Woodfine, owner of Tack Two Emergency Medical Services and Fire Suppression Inc., as our guest speaker as well as shopping and the all time favourite pot luck lunch.

The OTRA Calendar will be ready for pick up at the AGM. A sneak preview of the rides are, the York Forest for the long weekend in May, July 21, and Oct 20. The Fun D ride will be the long weekend in August at Pine River Ranch near Mansfield. We still have a few tentative rides to confirm.

OTRA will be going to “All About Horses” in Lindsay May 26 & 27 with the booth and new brochures that the board is currently working on.

MEMBERSHIP ~ Please note the slight increase in membership fees. The increase is to cover the rising costs of postage, insurance, printing etc.

Reminders * Annual General Meeting - Sunday April 22, 2012 Orangeville, ON

* Ride Hosts - If you are hosting a ride in 2012 please have your ride information to Kari Kelly by February 17, 2012. If you would like to host a ride but did not receive a Ride Infor- mation Package by email please contact Kari right away.

* Vendors - We are looking for vendors for the 2012 AGM in Orangeville. If you have a horse related business or hobby and would like to receive more information please contact Kari Kelly 705-322-6338.

* Membership - It is time to renew your membership. Please check you are using the correct membership form as fees have increased slightly and your membership cannot be processed if the correct fee is not received. Please remember you must be an OTRA member to partici- pate in OTRA Events.

* Fund Raising Rides - If you are hosting a fund raising ride in 2012 you can send the information to Kari Kelly and we will include your ride on our list in the Event Calendar. The list includes the name of the ride, date, and contact information.

* Trail Development - If you are planning a trail development or cleanup day in 2012 please forward the information to Kari Kelly and it will be included in the 2012 Event Calendar.
