Broadcast TECH ● RUSSIA CHANNEL ONE CHOOSES ICR
AmberFin has installed its iCR intel- ligent content ingest and transcoding system at Channel One Russia’s produc- tion headquarters in Moscow, where the former state broadcaster is migrating to file-based workflows. Much of Channel One’s material needs to be ingested and transcoded into a single common file format because its acquired content from international suppliers arrives in a broad range of formats.
● RUSSIA RBC TV DEPLOYS HARRIS KIT
Russian business news channel RBC TV has turned to Harris Corporation to upgrade its file-based workflow. The bespoke news production and playout system at its headquarters in Moscow stretches across the broadcaster’s work- flow, from ingest to playout, driving the broadcaster’s news, production and master-control areas.
OSN CHOOSES KIT DIGITAL ● UAE
Pay-TV platform OSN has selected Kit Digital as its global technology provider. The multiscreen video management and delivery technology firm will work with OSN to design, develop and deploy a new over-the-top video platform to deliver content to 24 countries. The platform will support subscription, transactional and advertising-funded business models for video-on-demand and live streaming.
●AUSTRALIA TV1 SELECTS ASPERA
TV1 and SciFi have selected Aspera for high-speed data transport across their broadcast supply chain management infrastructure. The cable and satellite channels are replacing existing tape- based workflows in a bid to reduce costs and shorten content procurement lead times. TV1 and SciFi are jointly owned by Sony International Television, NBC Stu- dios and Paramount, which have imple- mented Aspera file-transfer software.
