Technicolor has secured a foothold in the French past market with the takeover of most of the activities of ADJ (Auditori- ums de Joinville), SIS (Société Industri- elle de Sonorisation) and ScanLab. Tech- nicolor also wants to build on its Italian and UK-language versioning facilities with the establishment of six new digital studios at its facility near Paris.
CZECH TV TAKES OB TRUCK CZECH REPUBLIC ●
Czech TV has taken delivery of an HD- equipped outside broadcast vehicle kitted out by systems integrator and multiscreen platform provider Visual Unity. Designed to capture sporting and cultural events, the vehicle is the second completely HD-equipped vehicle in Czech TV’s fleet. The vehicle is kitted out with six triax-based LDK 8000 Elite series HD cameras, one radio camera and one SuperMotion camera.
BANGLADESH ● ITV OPTS FOR SNELL
Recently launched 24/7 satellite news channel Independent Television has built its live news infrastructure around Snell’s Kahuna SD/HD multi-format production switcher. Jay Chauhan, vice-president of technology at NDTV Worldwide, ITV’s media consultant, said the priority was to select a system that was “highly reli- able, simple to operate, and allows for a convenient upgrade to HD”.
RTV-NH UPGRADES NEWS PLATFORM THE NETHERLANDS ●
RTV Noord Holland has chosen Ross Video’s OverDrive Automated Production Control System and XPression Virtual Studio to help it increase the volume of live news it broadcasts. “The growing demand for fast and accurate news, current affairs and sports coverage forced RTV N-H to look for creative and flexible solutions for an old problem: how to do more with less,” said head of facilities Wiljan Pongers.
