Both these recordings are going to be a big step-up for me as the songs are originals and much more vocally challenging than anything I have recorded previously. But I am ready to go ha-ha! I think they are really going to help me develop further and I am really looking forward to it all. It’s going to be a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun! I am also going to put up a website. So there are more really exciting times coming up for me this year and I feel very privileged to have the support from my parents, my manager Noel and of course my supporters on youtube, facebook and twitter. Those supporters mean so much to me. They give me such encouragement. Hopefully I may have many more of them as time goes by.
I live in Blackrock with my parents Jeanne and David. They are the best! I suppose every girl would say that, but they really are. My poor mum is run ragged driving me to music lessons, rehearsals, studio records, tennis etc. But she never complains. I’m an only child, but have many really great friends. Blackrock is right beside the Irish Sea on the south side of Dublin and I love living there.
The last year has been very exciting for me musically and I really feel I am learning and developing so fast. During 2011 - I professionally recorded tracks & filmed in studio videos for three cover versions (“Rolling in the Deep”, “Price Tag” and “Jar of Hearts”). I put them on youtube and they got amazing reactions. “Rolling in the Deep” and “Price Tag” were even selected by Ireland’s national commercial TV station (TV3) and were showcased on “The Morning Show” with two of their top presenters, Sybil Mulcahy & Martin King. That was a big thrill for me, as I don’t think anybody has been featured twice on the show before. Unfortunately I couldn’t go on the show myself because on both occasions I was out of the country. Those 3 songs have had about 20,000 plays on youtube and some really lovely and encouraging comments.
Last year I started to teach myself piano. I found I was picking things up very quickly so I am now also taking lessons. I also got an acoustic guitar recently and am starting to learn to play that. I want to use piano and guitar for live performance and to start writing my own material. When I was three years of age we moved to Paris for a couple of years for my dads work. He has to travel a lot for business, but we relocated back to Ireland and are here most of the time now, although we
