NEWS BREAK A WORLD RECORD!

Would you like to be part of an event that breaks a World Record? Yes? Well sign up for RelayGB – a new charity fundraising event that will attempt to break the world record for distance relay running. It’s an amazing 3,100 miles between 4-23 May 2012 in aid of Brain Tumour UK. Single runners or teams will each complete a marathon, totalling 119 Marathons across the entire race. The record currently stands at 1,923 miles set by the ‘Gillette Phenomenal Tour’ in Romania in 2009. The route will start in London, hopefully at Buckingham Palace and will

follow the coastline of Britain, taking in major cities such as Southampton, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. Runners of all abilities can take part and if you can’t run a full marathon put in a team and divide the miles between you! Visit www.relaygb.org.

RUNNING AS A HUMAN TORCH

Mike Buss is slightly worried. He is no stunt man but is looking to take on a very dangerous running challenge indeed. Mike, who has broken over 40 world records supporting charities, plans to break a world record and attempt a run whilst on fire! The current world record,

set at running 259ft on fire is currently held by a qualified stuntman Keith Malcolm (pictured left). Mike is aiming to more than double the record by running 656ft. He needs to be prepared, as the temperatures in the fireball will soar to 1000 degrees C. Ultrarunner, Mike says he is combining his two loves; running and the movies! Good luck from RF!
