Names, such as the great Paula Radcliffe are hailed over the loud speaker. People dance and sing and many of the Africans do so as they run. It’s not just Africa’s biggest road race, the influence of Haile Gebrselaisse is making the GER one of the largest and most unique celebrations of running in the World. The sun heats the route and altitude thins the air. You feel the pinch in your lungs on the uphill sections of the course but when you look over your

Mud & Mayhem 10K Thetford Forest, IP27 0TJ A picturesque trail run along the banks of the Llittle Ouse and through

shoulder there is a river of red stretching back as far as the eye can see and that fills your breath again. The route is lined with locals, three and four deep in places. They clap, dance and celebrate the spectacle. Ethiopians run beside you, some encouraging, others challenging. At the finish, the top runners have

already returned with times of sub 30 minutes for 10K despite the altitude and the sun. Many runners from across the UK complete the run to raise money for international aid organisation Concern’s development projects. As part of the trip with Concern, you get to see the projects

you are helping to support too, the schools and the support programmes. They leave an impression as big as this great run. The Great Ethiopian Run takes place from the 22nd to the 27th November 2012, in aid of Concern Worldwide. To take part visit: www.concernchallenge.org
