The Helimod Helicopter Simulator from Ryan Aerospace in Australia is designed to be modular and reconfigurable so that air­ craft types can be changed over in minutes.


Features: • Modular – aircraft types can be changed over in minutes • Cyclic has a force trim function – a feature not usually found in low cost products. The force feedback on the stick is very realistic where­ as other products use physical springs which results in a less than sat­ isfactory ‘spring to centre’ which is not at all realistic.


• Takes up a much smaller footprint than comparable products with­ out compromising the 1:1 scale of the cockpit and controls


• Instead of having the full aircraft­specific module, a simple collective unit can be bolted onto the side. This basic system is useful when a full simulator is not required. ie, decision making, mission rehearsal, weather avoidance etc.


• Simple USB interface. Allows the unit to work with any simulation system on any operating platform


• LCD screens can be bolted to the unit for the ‘out­the­window’ view which is very affordable but projectors and a curved screen for full immersion can also be added if required.
