Quercy Unplugged to be broadcast live worldwide.
From February you and your friends will be able listen to our concerts live on the Internet wherever you are in the world. If you can’t make it to the concert and you can’t wait for the recording which is broadcast every second Thursday at 4pm on radio Antenne D’Oc then make sure you log on LIVE and hear the concert –warts and all- live from the Puits de Jour in Lauzerte.
Go to the web radio site
lagrossetambouille.com and when the little dot next to ‘Le Puits de Jour ‘is lit up then we are ‘on-air’ - from 8.15 pm on the night of each concert.
To give me feedback or just to say ‘hi’ and to let me know you are listening then e-mail me at
quercyunplugged@gmail.com and I’ll give you a call from on-stage! No rude comments about my French please – I’m trying my best!
How did the first year go and when are the concerts for 2012?
Thanks to the support of Matthieu at the Puits de Jour café/bar in Lauzerte, to each and every musician who, without exception, has enthusiastically agreed to come and play without any possibility of payment and, thanks to the support of all of you who have come to watch the shows, perhaps not even knowing what you will find----thanks to all of you, we have put on some great live concerts and have established a loyal following.
What’s next for Quercy Unplugged? Well the next season of concerts begins again in February and continues until the end of June. The dates for the Spring concerts are 16th February, 22nd March, 19th April and 24th May - all Thursdays as usual starting from 8pm. The date for the June concert will be announced nearer the time. Once again we aim to have a strong French element to the evening along with English-speaking music and musicians.
A couple of other things to report; There is still no entry charge for the concerts but our audience has very kindly established a custom of giving 5 euros each when we ‘pass the hat’ and that’s great so keep it up please!
I’ve been asked quite a few times if we have any CDs of the concerts. The recordings have reached the level of quality where we can begin to think of producing one or two compilation CDs to promote the artistes and the concerts. I’m looking at the logistics now with a likely release date in May so watch this space.
Finally, if you know of any musicians, duos, trios etc who you think would work well at Lauzerte during next year, or if you would like to create and manage a small web-site for Quercy Unplugged or help post recordings and info on the internet (voluntarily of course) then please get in contact with me, Mike Jones at
quercyunplugged@gmail.com .. Bye for now!
Please mention The Quercy Local when responding to adverts.
