7. Gyel works from his workshop and garden in Anglars-Juillac which make an interesting place to visit (especially in summer for the flowers). His semi-abstract paintings are noted particularly for their texture and finish.
The cover of this edition is a painting of a glimpse of les Arques (46250) painted in oils by Karina Knight in the style of Henri Martin.
Henri Martin (1860 – 1943) was a french impressionist painter who painted in a pointillist style. He was born in Toulouse and after residing in Paris, where he had considerable success, he moved to the Lot and lived and worked in Labastide du Vert 46140 where he produced poetic and symbolic works which were faithful to the locality and it's atmosphere. You can wonder in and see some large scale work in the Salle des Mariages at the Capitol in Toulouse and also in the Art Museum in Cahors which is named after him.
In the next issue there will be an article about the Musée Henri Martin which presents changing exhibitions of artworks from their large collection mixed with the input of contemporary artists.
The next edition will be available in June. Contact us -
