if it wasn’t for the great work of regular contributors and those now helping to manage the administration and delivery side of things.

Most people helping with this magazine would make unlikely ‘hacks’ (in tabloid terms), like myself they probably have enough trouble recovering their own mobile phone messages and aren’t ready (yet) to consider the prospect of using underhand technology to discover about things of local interest. So we continue to hope that people will keep us informed; so that we can make this publication reflect the lives of those in the region.

In this edition we have included a feature on some of the artists of the Lot valley; so many people in the region are engaged in art (in its many varied forms) as either artists or admirers, we hope that artists will continue to get in touch.

We have also tried to highlight some places, just outside of the region, a suitable distance for either a day-trip or perhaps a weekend away. Increasingly people seem to be looking for ideas of places to visit that do not require a great deal of travelling. We are also delighted to highlight some of the work of the Guide Dog association in France. Personally, I am amazed at the skill and charm of these amazing animals.

Paola Westbeek continues her series of cookery features; Paula is a true Francophile and her love of food is more than ‘just a little bit’ apparent.

This February also sees the first printed edition of our sister magazine The Gascony Local. So all the best for everyone in Quercy and Gascony for the coming year.
