A traditional neighborhood would not be complete without a walkable downtown, and that is the next phase of development for this exciting “New Urbanism” project. Construction will begin soon on phase one of the Lakeland Heights Village Center and will include a high-end multi- family neighborhood, upscale retail shops and restaurants as well as a medical office. Residents will enjoy the convenience and charm of the Village Center, and this concept will be repeated in each of Bridgeland’s four villages.

Bridgeland

An Award Winning Community

Bridgeland, owned by Howard Hughes Corporation, was named 2011 Developer of the Year in the TAB

Star Awards, 2010 Developer of the Year by the GHBA, as well as Master- Planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders, and Houston’s Best Planned Community of the Year by the GHBA Sales and Marketing Council.

About the Benefit Homes Project

Each year, two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with the help of donated materials and services by GHBA members. These luxurious homes are constructed with numerous upgrades and amenities. They are sold at market value. When sold, the proceeds benefit four worthy local organizations—Texas Children's Cancer Center, The Alzheimer's Association, HomeAid Houston and your very own Greater Houston

Builders Association.

Since the Project began 32 years ago, more than $7 million has been raised.

“Homes built for this fundraiser bring hope and care to so many of all ages,” said Don Klein, chairman of the Project. “The family who buys a Benefit Home buys a ‘Home for Good.’ This means their investment is incorporated into the care of children with cancer, the elderly suffering from Alzheimer’s and families and individuals facing homelessness. What better place to buy your dream home and help the less fortunate than in a community like Bridgeland.”

A second Benefit Home was constructed by Newmark Homes in Towne Lake just off Barker Cypress near Hwy 290. Caldwell Companies donated the homesite.
