IHRSA 2012! ‘State of the Industry Report’ to provide overview of clubs worldwide
>“There’s never been a better time to be a part of the health club indus- try” is the core message that Joe Moore, IHRSA’s president and CEO, will deliver and document in a special “State of the Industry Report” during IHRSA’s 31st Annual International Convention and Trade Show, March 14-17, in Los Angeles. Moore, himself a former club owner, will share the association’s most recent research findings, painting a detailed portrait of the industry’s size, scope, recent performance, and future prospects. Moore’s instructive and insightful
overview, setting the stage for indus- try initiatives during the coming year, will be presented on Thursday, March 15, at 8-8:30 a.m. Other new convention attractions

than 10,000 visitors, who shopped the offerings of 110 exhibiting companies. “We had a tremendous trade show with record attendance and the launching of many exciting new products and services,” reports Jacqueline Antunes, IHRSA Senior Manager, Latin America. “The trade show was sold out six months before the event, and exhibitors were busy interacting with attendees all three days of the show.” The conference, equally engaging, featured both industry and non-industry speakers, from both the U.S and South America. The lineup included, among others: Carlos Sardenberg, an economist, journalist, and news anchor for CBN Brazil; Gabriel Chalita, the former secretary of state for youth, sport, and leisure in São Paulo; and IHRSA board members Brent Darden, the owner of the Telos Fitness Center, in Dallas, and Bill McBride, the president and COO of Club One, Inc., based in San Francisco. The 13th installment of the IHRSA/Fitness Brasil event will take place August 30-September 1, 2012, in São Paulo. —|
