Show Choirs

More than just singing groups, show choirs are powerhouse performing troupes combining high-energy movement with tight vocal harmonies and expressive vitality. In the world of musical theater, your chances of being cast as THAT character (and getting to sing THAT song in front of an adoring audience) are largely outside your control, and often quite slim. Show Choirs demolish that barrier, giving everyone the chance to perform favorite songs and amazing characters from the Broadway canon; this fall’s selections came from Next to Normal, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Legally Blonde, Sweet Charity, and many other hot shows—not to mention pop sensations like Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
Our program includes 4 groups: • Students in grades 7-12 audition for placement in Show Choir (the perfect talent incubator for performers who aspire to be triple threats) or Show Choir Select (where a high level of expected proficiency and commitment to artistic growth both challenges and rewards performers whose skills call for more demanding material).
• Students in grades 4-6 may apply for admission to the Junior Show Choir
• Performers aged 18+ may apply for admission to the Adult Show Choir.
Each group rehearses a dynamic musical repertoire for performances held throughout the year. The three older groups also receive a special coaching session with Broadway vocal coach Bill Reed at no extra charge. Join us in this amazing program; it’s your time to shine!

Junior & Adult Show Choirs: New applicants should submit an application by Wednesday, January 4. Fall members need not re-apply. (Applications can be printed from our website, or picked up at the Flynn.) Applications will be reviewed and you’ll be notified of admission unless the number of applicants far exceeds the available spots, in which case you’ll be notified of an audition by January 5. If necessary, the audition would be held on Saturday, January 7. If spaces remain after January 4, applications will be accepted through January 18.
Show Choir & Show Choir Select: An audition will be held on Saturday, January 7 for new applicants. Fall members need not re-audition. Call 802-652-4537 or email
