theater

Our theater program emphasizes individual expressive vitality, creative choice, personal attention, and fun! Children learn a broad spectrum of skills, while teens and adults explore specific theater arts in greater depth. Most classes are process-oriented, and provide students the chance to try out their skills in front of supportive audiences of family and friends at semester’s end. Adult Performance Ensemble encourages development of new work and more advanced performance skills. Many classes also include tours of our historic art deco theater, discounts on world-class MainStage performances, and masterclass opportunities with extraordinary visiting artists.

Kids’ Creative Capers in Drama & Dance Tots develop expressive and social skills in this playful class, as they bring classic picture books to life through creative drama and movement activities. This is a fun, supportive, and lively introduction to theater and dance.
