There have been further developments on the Craighouse campus proposals. Having received a huge number of
correspondence from residents on this issue, I met with the developers to put forward many of the concerns and comments that were raised. The developers were keen to point out that this is the very start of a long planning process and are stuck between attempting to give local people enough information to make an initial judgement on their proposals and the formal pre-application procedures which are required by the Council. Unfortunately there isn't enough space to
detail fully their response, but you can view the full details here.
Following a lengthy pre-application consultation, the planning application for the residential development at the former Woodcroft telephone exchange has now been submitted. The application can be viewed online here at
the Council's planning portal using the application ref. 11/01386/FUL. You can submit your comments on the
application to the Council, either via the planning portal or in writing to the Head of Planning, City of Edinburgh Council, Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG, quoting the reference number above.

The developers have set-up a website
www.edinburghcraighouse.co.uk with FAQs and I have been informed that there will be a 2nd round of public exhibitions later this year. I would like to thank the Friends of
Craighouse group for their continued campaigning. Thanks also to all those who turned up at Craighouse a few weekends ago to show the developers the depth of feeling about this local amenity. I hope to bring a further update later in the year.
residents who were rightly concerned about the impact that the mast would have on the area's outlook including the attraction it could potentially pose for graffiti. This decision given would never have been
reached if it wasn't for the vigourous campaigning of local residents over recent months. I'd like to thank them for their hard work and also the many constituents who wrote and emailed me with their objections and concerns. The applicants can now appeal the decision
of the committee should they wish to do so. All interested parties will be notified should they do so and I will endeavour to keep residents updated as well.
