BUSINESS ELTHAM
Paid for by Berkeley Homes, the fl oating ‘tepee’ rafts are among a number of improvements to the park from the developers who have contributed a pot of £30,000.
They were made by the environmental charity Thames 21, from disused cable cylinders and willow stems, anchored into the lake by concrete blocks.
It is hoped that the rafts will provide a safe refuge in the lake for a number of species to raise their young.
Additional facilities to be paid for from the pot of money are some new picnic benches, waste bins and a deciduous hedge which will run alongside Tudway Road to provide screening and wildlife habitat.
