‘With more than 20 mini- seminars and conferences go- ing on it is not always easy to remember when and where to go,’ mused Eriksen. ‘We will be developing this further for the next exhibition.’ In summing up the event, Liv Holmefjord said she was: ‘very happy with the results this year. But we are already looking ahead to the next exhibition, which is the Nor- Fishing Fisheries Technology Exhibition and will take place on 14-17th August 2012.’

Review

‘We are going to review our experiences from this year over the next few weeks. We had some minor technical problems during the fi rst day, and there have been some queues forming in the restaurants at times. In addition to the exhibition, several mini-conferences and seminars were organised – in- cluding the Aqua Nor Forum (which is held in association with the European Aquacul- ture Society) and seminars by MSD Animal Health, Alltech, Novartis, the Norwegian Sea- food Export Council, Aqua- Gen and investment seminars from Brazil and Mozambique. The conference opening was followed by the presentation of the Nor-Fishing Innova- tion Award which went to Flatsetund Engineering from Kristiansund for the develop- ment of a fi sh pump system that cleans lice off fi sh as they are moved between cages. Other items of note that were introduced at the exhibition included net cage systems to reduce fouling, a composite material feed barge, new fi ltration systems, an automated vaccination system, new underwater camera and lighting systems and new product licenses for fi sh pharmaceuticals. Closed cycle recirculation systems were also featured by many exhibitors.

Given the successful nature of the exhibition, there can be lit- tle doubt that the industry will be looking forward to the next Aqua Nor exhibition, which is due to take place in Trondheim on 13-16th August 2012.
