Sometimes we have up to 14 tiny little feet to keep warm in win- ter and keep them upbeat....some- times we need sox..sometime we need shoes....did I mention single bed sheets on which to snooz.... sometimes we have brothers and sis- ters off to school in the morn...who would feel badly wearing coats that were torn....[I forgot to add diapers and those neat bottom wipers]...We do what we do...due to the need...our purpose of caring starts with a seed... it grows into giving of a non mon- etary request...our community thanks you...we all do our best... Dear Mr. Doyle, Thank you for your wonderful newspaper and the focus on good news! We can always use that in this world. I am the Transportation

Coordinator at the Sebastopol Area Senior center. I developed a senior transportation program with the Senior Center which is funded by the Sonoma Area Agency on Aging. For the past 3.5 years we have provided free rides to people 60 and over in the West County who need to get to medical, shopping or social service appointments. I have recruited 38 volunteer drivers who provide the transportation in their own vehicles at their own expense. We have given 2,488 people l0,590 rides from January 2008 through June 2011. We have been re-funded for the next 4 years. Our program has been highly successful and both riders and drivers love their time together. I would love to share this program with your readers and would like to know about the process involved in making this happen. I look forward to hearing from you and thanks again for what you do.
