Local Inventor Ron Lando of Corte Madera Shares "CliC" Story with the Upbeat Times


SANTA ROSA, CA. ~ As a continuation of Steve Schneider's invention section we are featuring Ron Lando of CliC Goggles. Steve con- sulted with Ron to help make Clic Goggles a complete success. Ron Lando opened Exis Eyeware in 1996 where he helped design and create original eyewear and styles. Then in 2000 after extensive research and consultation with Steve at the Sawyer Center they launched a radically new front-connecting eyewear product.


Although Lando was famil-


iar with the marketing aspects of promoting a product, he had to go through many of the pro- cesses that most new inventors are faced with, such as how to "think outside the box", and come up with something completely new and different,. How to get a prototype made and how to get patent protec- tion and how to find a manu- facturer. With Steve's advice he successfully completed these crucial stages and teh CliC googles were officially launched at the SnowSports Industries America trade show in Las Vegas.

90’s Lando consulted on sev- eral major eyewear manufac- turing and design initiatives. Many of today’s leading eye- wear brands can trace their original designs and current success to Lando’s efforts and ideas. New products with this type of common sense appeal are not introduced every day, explains Lando. “Judging from consumer response around the globe, the eyewear industry has been anxiously awaiting a new design in eye glasses for years.” Lando further says, “Timing is everything and fortunately for us, CliCs hap- pened spot on, at the right time!” CliC eyewear won the Vision Choice award 2 years running at the International Vision Expo for best new product.
