Day 1 Depart Singapore’s Keppel Road Station late morning. You are served lunch onboard as you cross into Malaysia over the Straits of Johor. Enjoy dinner as the train pulls into Kuala Lumpur. Disembark for a stroll before retiring to your cabin, transformed into a cosy bedroom by your steward
Day 2 After breakfast, arrive in Butterworth for a guided tour of colonial Georgetown, Penang. See the historic town and Fort Cornwallis, partly by trishaw. Rejoin the train for lunch and dinner as you cross into Thailand
Day 3 Arrive at the River Kwai Bridge station where you disembark for a beautiful excursion accompanied by a local historian. Take a local boat under the bridge and visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre detailing the history of the railway built in WWII. Rejoin the train at Kanchanaburi station and continue your journey enjoying lunch onboard. Arrive in Bangkok in the afternoon

Day 1 Depart Bangkok in the afternoon. Afternoon tea is served as you travel into northeastern Thailand. Enjoy dinner onboard and retire to your cabin
Day 2 Morning tour of Phimai, a World Heritage Site. Return to the Eastern & Oriental Express for lunch and continue on to Khao Yai valley where you can sample local vintages in one of its picturesque vineyards. Re-board the train in the early evening in time to prepare for dinner
Day 3 After breakfast, cross the Mekong River via the Friendship Bridge and enter Laos for the first time. Enjoy a full day’s tour of Vientiane including lunch at the historic Settha Palace Hotel. Capital of Laos, Vientiane is a city of contrasts where French colonial architecture sits alongside gilded Asian temples. Dinner on board
