Madine from their respective Qualifying matches. The fi rst ever World Carp Classic Qualifying Events took place this year and they were each deemed to be a great success by the organisers. It is envisaged that there


will be many more and in a greater number of countries in 2011.

Ross Honey WCC SPANISH QUALIFIER 28th-31st MAY


The fi rst ever Spanish qualifying event took


place on Lake


Orellana, Extremadura, in Spain. The heat soared abov


e 35C, but those who fi shed the event still caught an amazing


1,595lbs of carp, with more than 85% of the anglers catching fi sh. The winning pair Jorge Sacristian and Fran Granados, who caught a staggering 816lb of carp, were delighted with their result and are looking for- ward to the fi nal on Lake Madine

and 76 carp being caught, it produced an average of over four carp per angler for a total of 446 kg. The winners of the tro- phy and qualifi ers for the fi nal at Lac de Madine this September were Karol Olejnik and Pawel Kalbarczyk with 20 carp for a total of 85.6 kg and were well clear of the rest of the fi eld.


8th-11th JUNE WCC GIBRALTAR


QUALIFIER


The very fi rst Gibralta World Carp Classic Qualifi er took place at Lac da Alfarofi a,


Alvas, Portugal and was greatly enjoyed by all competitors. The eventual winners, Graham Noon and John Tattersall lifted the Gibyellow trophy as they claimed top spot and entry into the World Carp Classic fi nal at Lac de Madine with a weight close to 50lb.
