Web & Media Coverage

With the official website grow- ing year upon year, providing even more pictures, articles, videos, blogs and the very latest news, its popularity as a major resource for the angling community has reached an unprecedented level, with an ever-increasing volume of traffic. Here are a few things that

you can expect to find on the website now, during, and after the event.

BLOG

The website is regularly updat- ed with blogs from participants and WCC team members. This year, we have had all

the latest news from the event Head Marshal, Andy Cham- bers, as he prepared the swims at Madine... We went down under to join Andy Wallis to follow his progress as he prepared himself to take a trip half way round the world to join us for this year’s competi- tion... We also had a blog from John Dearden, a WCC par- ticipant who hails from South Africa - at a time when they were hosting the World Cup. (Congratulations to Spain!) During the event, there will

be up-to-the-minute updates of their blogs from Ross Honey at WCC HQ and Jake Langley Hobbs, wherever he might be on the venue.

A truly global event

As the competition continues to expand year upon year, it draws in anglers from countries that have never entered previously and this, of course, creates further media attention. An example of that occurs

yet again this year, as it did last year with the participation of the pair from Japan. This time around it’s the turn

of Australia to make their debut in the event in the form of Ben Cook and Andy Wallis. They will be providing a video diary of their journey to the events. And there are sure to be

plenty of interested parties “down under” following the pair’s progress.

Get the picture?

At event HQ there will be a dedicated media and IT team whose task it will be to upload the photographs and videos to the website on a daily basis as and when new material arrives.

Caught on camera!

A TV series is being produced, which will be internationally broadcast on various channels including PV-TV, one of the competition sponsors. As well as the TV series,

there will be a DVD produced which will be available through the Official WCC website shop www.worldcarpclassic. com. One thing is for certain, if you are in the competition you are in the program.
