Trial Lawyers Referral Service A Special Member Benefit from the

MARYLAND TRIAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION 

In August 2002, the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association announced formation of a new

and exciting member benefit-- a Lawyer Referral Service for the exclusive benefit of MTLA members. The “Trial Lawyer Referral Service”, as it is called, has placed Yellow Book ads throughout the state of Maryland informing and educating the public and potential clients of the Trial Lawyer Referral Service and the type and broad range of specialties our members practice. Regular and subscribing members may join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service (“T-LRS”) at the very reasonable cost of $150.00 per year. Members of the Presidents Club will be entitled to discounts as follows: Eagles receive a complimentary membership in the T-LRS; Founders pay $50.00 per year to join; Contributors are charged $100.00; and Supporters pay $125.00 per year.

The Trial Lawyer Referral Service is the only truly statewide referral service sponsored,

run and operated by a bar association. All MTLA members are encouraged to join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service and/or to refer conflict of interest and other matters they cannot handle to the TLRS. To receive an application to join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service, e-mail the Association headquarters at mtla@mdtriallawyers.com. You can also send a FAX request for an application to 410-783-5981 or register on-line on our new and improved website: http:// www.mdtriallawyers.com.

In its early months, the service is receiving many calls. In fact, in mid-January MTLA will hire a part time employee to field the calls and assign the cases. As a bonus for those who have already joined, we are extending all T-LRS memberships through the end of December, 2003. We especially need family law practitioners in the database to handle the volume of requests we receive for lawyers who handle these type of cases.
