Ruben Krisztal, Esq., Kansas. Attorney Ruben Krisztal has been involved in numerous cases resulting in signifi- cant favorable verdicts or settlements for clients. He will present “A Baker’s Dozen: Nursing Home Malpractice Tips” including strategies for lawyers to effectively handle nursing home cases.


Byron Arbeit, M.A., H.F.A., N.F.A, Sarasota, Florida. Mr. Arbeit is a former nursing home administrator. His topic will address: Where to find minimum standards and to determine substandard care; Administrative techniques in reviewing nursing home records; What to look for when reviewing nursing home medical records; and the Use of State Surveys to establish liability.


Patricia Iyer, R.N., M.S.N., L.N.C.C, New Jersey. Ms. Iyer is a nurse and legal nurse consultant. Ms. Iyer will focus her address from the nursing prospective and cover such topics as: and Proving and Documenting Damages in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Cases and Screening for Meritorious Cases.


Janet McKee, M.S., R.D., L.D, Orlando, Florida. Ms. McKee is a Nutritionist and Dietician. Ms. McKee will discuss: Malnutrition and Dehydration in Nursing Home Cases and Proper Nutrition in Pressure Ulcer Cases.


John Costello, McCarthy & Costello: Attorney John Costello is an MTLA member and Founder. John will discuss Proving that the Pressure Ulcer Was Not Unavoidable. John obtained a significant verdict for his clients in a stage 2 ulcer case 2002.
