served there, or have yet to experience that treat, you may be interested to know their ‘offer’ has now gone afloat. in January this year, they located and purchased a suitable boat in Scotland to be transported by lorry to blackness Marine where they refurbished her for two months. She is a classic 30ft berry brothers fishing boat, built in the1960s of African iroko hardwood and she had previously served both as a fishing boat and a dive boat. with a change of colours and a full new waterproof cover made and installed, she was fitted with new carpet and upholstery together with new and improved toilet facilities. After a complete engine overhaul, ‘elberry’ (named after the beautiful cove) is now fit for purpose! the picnic boat is being operated by Jasmine Harvey. She is licensed to carry up to 12 persons and will operate on the Dart from all points between Dartmouth Castle and totnes. Jasmine is offering everything from children’s parties and cream teas to champagne and lobster celebrations operating from easter through to October. Jasmine was born in leek, near Stoke on trent but has lived locally since 2½ years old. She attended school in blackawton followed by KeviCS in totnes. On leaving school having completed her A levels, she decided to join her mother Claire in the ‘family’ catering business. Additionally, from the age of 16 years old, Jasmine has run the Dittisham Sailing School until she sold it last november to focus her attention on this new venture.

She has a superb knowledge of the Dart including its wildlife and all places of interest along the river which she is happy to share with customers if desired.
Jasmine is keen to point out that, “i am more than happy to talk through
customers’ ideas and tailor the trip and food to their special requirements. As with the café, our food
is mostly locally sourced and as fresh as it can possibly be. ‘elberry’ is moored at Dittisham but i can start the trip from many places along the river dependent, of course, on the state and time of tides state. we aim to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. i look forward to providing a truly memorable and enjoyable experience for my passengers whatever the occasion!”
