Vivafit, the Western European chain of women-only health clubs, has opened its first franchise location in Spain in the town of Lepe, near Huelva. The new facility—owned by businessman Florencio Andre—opened in February, and, having sold 232 memberships during presale, was already at break-even on the day that it made its debut. Vivafit owns two additional Spanish locations and hopes to have 100
in the country by 2016. The company, based in Portugal, has more than 100 centers there, and dominates the 30-minute-express sector with an estimated 80% market share. It’s also exploring opportunities in India and Singapore. “Vivafit strives to be the leading weight-loss fitness franchisor in the
