and platforms on their casino floors. For example, our new WAGE-net Portal Applications Suite was developed to address these very needs. Customers were asking us for ways to drive additional revenue, differentiate their business from their competitors and to provide new business efficiencies. Portal addresses all of these, including the Ultra Hit Progressive® (UHP) Portal family. Themes in the UHP Portal Family that are currently available are Jackpot Explosion™ and Piggy Bankin™. Other Portal application families that WMS will debut in the near future include Winner’s Share™, MetaScreen™ and Mega Multiplier®. We have created a number of customized, WMS-exclusive slot floors, such as the Holland Casino Amsterdam Lido Club, and are always willing to go the extra mile to provide casino operators with unique gaming experiences that help them differentiate from their competitors.
What is WMS doing to reduce the power consumption of your slots and other systems? Today’s environmental issues are top of mind for WMS and we are working to make our products, processes and facilities more efficient for both the environment and business. WMS is developing products that limit or reduce our customer’s power consumption and overhead costs. Our products are designed so that operators can upgrade and refresh games with lighting, themes and top boxes, without replacing the whole unit, which reduces the amount of toxins and waste products that eventually finds its way to landfills. We believe we have mastered the fine balance between energy efficiency, power management and the development and manufacture of great games. One of the biggest transitions to sustainability has been with LED lighting, which reduces power consumption and heat. Throughout the casino, as games use less power, less heat is generated and this, in turn, reduces heating and air-conditioning expenses.
What are some of your Strategic and Brand Relationships and how do they encourage people to play your games? We absolutely believe that a great brand combined with a well executed game design, will lead to a high-earning gaming product. Obviously WMS works diligently to find the right brands for the right execution. An example of this was our

launch of Monopoly Big Event as the industries first Community Gaming experience. We believed that we could absolutely recreate Monopoly’s communal game play experience in a shared Big Event experience. Other great executions include The Wizard of Oz as one of our first Sensory Immersion products.
Approximately, how many new titles or games does WMS introduce a year? Last year we released over 80 games at G2E
but it’s not necessarily with a pure numbers game. Our primary concern is providing partners with a portfolio of games across our product categories to keep their floors fresh and engaging. We also have a keen focus on ensure the products we bring out are game changing and differentiated to ultimately drive higher coin-in.
What is the average development time to go from an idea to game roll out? Our greatest insights and innovations begin with ideation, market insights and strategy—it’s a studied process that can’t and shouldn’t be rushed. No one likes being first-to-market more than WMS, but there is a delicate balance to being “first”, playing to player preferences and getting ahead of our customers and regulators. While we understand importance of leading into market to bring it forward, it is absolutely critical that we never pass the point of relevancy.
What do you look for when you walk into a casino? We look for new trends and insights. Consumer
preferences are constantly changing and it is key to anticipate those new trends before they become widespread. We often start with figuring out what is wrong or not working well. It’s only through a full understanding of what’s missing that could make a difference that our immensely talented team can come up with creative solutions and innovative approaches that meet the needs of our customers.
