We provide support throughout the year for our volunteers, publishing regular e-newsletters, a tri-annual magazine, resources and advice. Last year we provided Impact Research findings in a variety of formats for our network so that they could use the statistics to support their work locally.

High-profile supporters

We are enormously grateful to all the celebrities and high-profile supporters who give their time to support our events, and celebrate young people’s achievements at our national Gold Award Presentations.

“Young people meet more difficulties, opportunities and challenges than they would have done around the turn of the 20th century. The DofE can be considered a fundamental part of the ‘Make a Human Being’ kit.”

Our Women in Business group

Many of our supporters volunteer their time to raise our profile and additional funds for us, in addition to any corporate donations.

Chaired by HRH The Countess of Wessex, the Women in Business Group is made up of 30 inspirational, senior business women from a broad range of sectors. The time and energy they put into this voluntary work has enabled us to raise our profile and income through a host of new opportunities. We have been the beneficiary of national fashion magazine Grazia’s weekly fundraising competition, introduced to new major supporters Co-Op and Peter Jones, and been the charity partner for the StreetDance3D film premiere.

The group’s Vice Chair, Karen Wightman, Partner at KPMG generously arranged for a large piece of pro-bono work to be undertaken by her company saving the charity thousands of pounds. The group also gathered for a number of business breakfasts using their considerable business acumen to support the development of the Charity’s strategy and to help extend the reach of the Charity’s fundraising activity within the business community, generating over £250,000 worth of donations.
