Women in Business Symposium

rea businesswomen will have an opportunity to refresh their business passions and make new contacts during the Women in Business Symposium from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 19, at the Activity Center at Del Mar Fairgrounds, in Del Mar.
The only local event of its kind, the symposium provides a fun and stimulat- ing day filled with profes- sional keynote speakers; roundtable discussions with experts on topics relating to personal and professional growth; a formal luncheon; exhibits demonstrating innovative and unique products and services from women in business; and more than three hours of networking. This year’s critically acclaimed, award-winning speakers include Master of Ceremonies Jennifer Sed- lock; national columnist and TV hostess Rita Kahn; and author and Goddess of Comedy, Judy Carter. Sheila McDonnell is producing the event, whose current sponsors include Sprint; San Clemente Villas by the Sea; the ADAMA Institute; New York Life; Natural Awakenings-San Diego; Good Ol’ Gals Business Con- nections; Dr. Internet; Women’s Wisdom; Patricia Kor Leather Bags; and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. McDonnell says, “This is our 12th year for the symposium, and each year it gets better and better (and bigger)! It has been an honor to create, develop and produce this event, and I trust that everyone who attends will find it rewarding, inspiring, motivating, educational and entertaining. Many past attendees, exhibitors and sponsors have said, ‘Please don’t stop producing this event!’. Well, we don’t intend to!”
