of other dreams. “Just being in the presence of someone’s dream is an empowering experience for both giver and receiver,” notes Bannister. The Dreamer’s Dictionary, by Dr.
Barbara Condron, is another resource he suggests for understanding dreams. This reference book contains over a thousand dream symbols and their in- depth meaning.
One of the most important aspects of dream interpretation is realizing that dreams are all about the dreamer. Bannister explains, “It’s not about the other person that may be in the dream. You aren’t dreaming about other people. They are simply a representation of how you are viewing or responding to life.” Knowing and understanding dreams and their meaning is enormous- ly benefi cial because it allows individu- als to get to know themselves and their thoughts. It is a way of correcting and bringing more harmony to parts of our lives that we may not have realized needed attention. “By paying attention to our emotional state, and connecting mind and body, we can dramatically improve our quality of life,” states Ban- nister. “Knowledge is power.”
