President’s Message The fall season had kicked into gear and I was able to attend a few

fairs. Dodged the rain and endured a little cold weather but the visits went well. Thursday November 4th I headed up to Columbia County. Literally dodged rain and storms the whole way, picked up my grand kids and out came the sun and we all had a wonderful time….stole some ideas and left Friday. On my way to Jacksonville stopped and visited with Pete and Karen at Clay County Fair. Had a great lunch and then on my way to Jacksonville. Now that is where the cold came into play. Un- fortunately Jacksonville was calling for temperatures in the 30’s so we all bundled up and hit the grounds. The visit was wonderful as the crew from Plant City was also there. We enjoyed the con- cert and livestock showmanship events and building displays. That was my first trip to Jacksonville and I was in total amazement of the skyscrapers all around the grounds. Jacksonville does a great job of bringing “the country” right smack in the middle of the city! Saturday morning I was up early and headed down to Volusia County. It was a beautiful Saturday and the crowds were huge. David and his volunteers, as usual, were great hosts and hostesses. My visits were somewhat limited this fall but visiting fairs is one of my favorite things…hopefully I will catch up next fall with a few more visits. A big thank you— I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, cards,

thoughts and donations when my husband Bob passed away this past November. My friends and family were just in awe of the response that came from all of you. I do miss him terribly but truly know that it was for the best as we really had a great time with each other overcoming the illness and I have great memories of the great times we had together. Please remember to treasure every moment as we are never promised a tomor- row. Thank you all again...it is so wonderful being part of such a great group of friends.
