By Rory Martin, President

proud to kick off their 75th Annual Sarasota County Fair from March 18th to the 27th. The Fair hosts all the usual array of livestock displays, canned goods and Fair displays. In addition to the rides of Belle City Amusements, we have planned some exciting entertainment for our Fairgoers. The Sarasota County Fair is offering a great value to the

The Sarasota County Agricultural Fair Association is

public for the second year in a row. The Fair opens its gates for free admission from 2:00 to 4:00 pm from Monday through Thursday. This promotion brought many people to the Fair last year which benefited the vendors. In retro- spect, the promotion was well worth the effort as the tick- eted revenues were at a minimal difference. The Sarasota County Fair has Ron Diamond, Master of

Hypnosis, to mesmerize the crowds. In addition, the Dennis Lee Show is scheduled to perform all ten days of the Fair. Rosaire’s Racing Pigs continue to bring out the pork enthu- siast. The Sea Lion Splash, one of the hits of our 2010 Fair, is returning to thrill. A new act this year is Wild About Mon- keys, one that will sure to be a hit. In addition to this thrilling lineup, the Sarasota Fair also has the Frisco Tiger Show, the Crackerland Band, and country western up comers Bullseye Ride. The Sarasota Fair is appreciative of their many sponsors.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Department does a great job in keeping our Fair a safe and fun venue for families of all ages. Marshall Protection and Investigation works hand in glove with the Sheriff’s Department in manning the gates and providing a seamless safe environment. The Sarasota Fair has adopted a ID badge for Fair exhibi-

tors. This plastic badge has the exhibitors pictures and per- tinent information for entry into the grounds. This is one of the many exciting changes that we are implementing with more to come in the next two years. If you get in the neighborhood, stop on by and visit with

our Board of Directors which are the backbone of our Fair. May all your days be fair days!

many nights are sleepless…the stress level is a little high. You always think that you forgot something..but when the gates open and you see the kids…it all goes away. If you did forget something just remember no one will really know, but you, as the many great volunteers and staff that we are all blessed with pick up the slack and we all have great Fairs!!!!

Northwest Florida Fair Update The Northwest Florida Fair is still alive and well. We are

like all the others here suffering from the oil spill. We do have new construction going on in front of the grounds which provides us with larger, lighted parking areas. Our Fair this year will be October 25-30 with James Gang Amusements returning who did an outstanding job for us last year. We are looking for a bigger and better year at the Fair, where memories are made!
