Annual Giles Ellis Golf Tournament b

y Pt utn ee Sto, Plans have been finalized for the 11th Annual Giles Ellis Gl o mte himn of Cm ite Car a

Golf Tournament to be held on May 18, 2011 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine Florida. This will be an exciting way to kick off the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention and Annual Meeting which is scheduled for May 19–21. The convention will be held at the Renaissance Resort at

the World Golf Village and the golf tournament will be held at the Slammer & Squire golf course on-site. The World Golf Village is located in northeast Florida, 20

minutes South of Jacksonville and 8 miles North of Historic St. Augustine, off Interstate-95 at exit 323/old 95-A, Inter- national Golf Parkway. This year the Renaissance Resort was named one of the

best golf resorts in the world by Conde’ Nast Traveler Magazine. The Renaissance has been named among the top golf resorts several times, this year it was named among the top 80 golf resorts in the world and “top 10 Flor- ida golf resorts.” The Renaissance was one of just two re- sort hotels to earn a perfect score of 100 for design and golf courses and also for the outstanding golf staff and ser- vices. The Slammer & Squire course was designed by Bobby

Weed, with player consultants “Slammin” Sam Snead and Gene “The Squire” Sarazen. The 6,939 yard course offers views of the World Golf Hall of Fame from several holes and is distinguished by memorable par- 3’s, preserved woodlands, wetlands, and natural beauty. The Slammer & Squire has hosted several televised events including: Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, Trevino vs. Player, the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and the LPGA’s Handa Cup…and now the Giles Ellis Tournament, although this one won’t be televised. This year’s golf committee was pleased to work out the

details to have this year’s tournament on-site at the Slam- mer & Squire. The cost will remain the same as last year, $125 per player or $500 per team. This includes a box lunch, golf, and dinner. It promises to be “one to remem- ber.” You will be proud to tell your friends that you’ve played this prestigious course. Associate and Fair Members are encouraged to make

plans now to participate in the tournament. Spread the word…Player spots and Sponsorships are now available. Please contact Pete Sutton @ 904-284-1615,
