“FAIR”LY IMPORTANT MATTERS . . . . . . . . . . ………………………………………….. FAIR APPOINTS

Florida Youth Involved (FYI) By Leah Norris

Do you have a person 40 years of age or younger in-

volved at your Fair or festival? Would you like those young people to be more involved in the Federation? We’ve got the answer for you! The Board of Directors of the Federation has decided to

start a program for Fair staff, volunteers, and board mem- bers to network with other young people on the state level. The FYI program is following in the footsteps of the IAFE’s Young Professionals Initiative (YPI), and we plan to have table topics and/or workshops geared toward the “young people” in our industry at future Conventions. Starting with the next issue of “The Faircracker” we will

have an article that spotlights an outstanding FYI’er. Just to let everyone know how great your Fair’s young people really are. But we will need your help. We won’t know about them unless you tell us! So get those names into Leah Norris, lakecofair@aol.com, with any kind of informa- tion you can as soon as possible so she can start getting that article together. Also, if you would like your 40 and under staffers, volun-

teers, or board members to get involved in the FYI program you can also send their name, email address, phone num- ber, and what they do at your Fair to Leah Norris and she will contact them to give them all the information they need. Keep an eye out for more information about the FYI pro-

gram. We are all very excited about it, and want to get everyone involved!
