New Historical Exhibit Contest The Florida Federation of Fairs has added a historical dis-


play contest to the awards program to encourage Florida Fairs to create displays to educate the public on how their Fair got started and how it has progressed through the years. Photographs of your display, along with short essays, will


be judged and rosette ribbons will be awarded at the 2011 Federation convention which will be held in St. Augustine. Information about the contest is available on the Federa- tion Web site.

Plan Ahead -—-- Come Join the Fun ------ Learn Something New --------- All at the 2011 Summer Workshop which will be hosted by the Florida Strawberry Festival on Saturday, July 30th, 2011 in Plant City, Florida. The Board of Directors will meet at 1 p.m. on Friday July 29th with commit- tee meetings being held that morning. The pro- gram, registration forms, and hotel information will be available at a later date. Just wanted eve- ryone to be sure to save these dates for another great opportunity to network and learn.

opportunity for us to recognize those people that have made a difference in our industry. We ask you to help us in identifying and nominating potential members by sub- mitting a Hall of Fame Nomination. The deadline for appli- cations is MARCH 15th.


Jeanne Keaton, Associate of the Year Nominations: The Associate of


the Year award is an opportunity for us to recognize our Associate members that have supported and contributed to the Fair industry. Again, please take time to help us iden- tify these people by submitting a nomination by MARCH 15th.

ARTICLE V. DIRECTORS SECTION 5.1 BOARD OF DIRECTORS To be qualified to serve on the Board of Directors, an individual


must be a voting delegate,* over the age of 21 years, and must be a senior manager with a member Fair association for a period of not less than 5 years, or must be on the board of a member Fair association for a period of not less than 10 years, provided, however, that no more than two of non-fair management persons shall be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors at any one time. *Deadline March 15th. See your Convention packet or check out the Convention tab online for the rules and regulations. Photographs should be of activities during the Fair or other Fair related events.


Florida Federation of Fairs offers Scholarship for IAFE Institute of Fair Management


In a commitment to furthering the educa- tion of potential Fair managers and staff, the Florida Federation of Fairs has commit- ted to presenting a $1,000. scholarship to the Institute of Fair Management to a Flor- ida applicant that is currently enrolled in or applying to enroll in the Institute program. The applicant must be a Florida resident and involved with a Florida Fair.


The deadline for applications is April 1st. Applications can be requested from lisahinton@floridafairs.org
