Winner’s Circle

no wonder the ones she’d jump in the show ring never bothered her. Over the years, with many horses, besides the

ones mentioned, there has been: Fifth Avenue, Profiteer, Catfish, St. Patrick ( a horse they brought back from Ireland) As you like it, Tia’s Son, Maximus, Garbo, Hepburn, Penn Square, Wellington, Ravelle, Rosegold, Magic Circle, Absolute Gold, Gold Star, Sotheby and Ragtime Cowboy. Twinkle firmly believes that there are 3 people

who have had the most impact on her horse career: Starting with Barbara Worth, she was the one that taught her, if you fall off, you get right back on no matter what. You can hurt later. Carlton Brooks – he taught her how to ride both hunters and jumpers. He gave her the confidence that she was lacking. It didn’t matter how big or small the jump was, and some were taller than she was, but she had the confidence to do the job. He always has told her, he’d always be honest and let her know when it was time to put up the stirrups. Finally, Diane Yeager, for the last 16 years,

Twinkle and Diane have been traveling from show to show with any number of her horses and their dogs. Diane taught Twinkle many different things, but most of all she taught her how to relax. Anyone who would see them at shows know that they spend a lot of time together. The horse that made the most impact during these years would be Wellington. Twinkle rode Wellington in everything from Jumpers, Hunters and Equitation. Diane has made the last few years most enjoyable for Twinkle, whether it be with all the babies, Garbo and Absolute Gold to name a few. They would travel and compete for many awards up and down the coast. Diane is not only Twinkle’s trainer but she is considered part of the family. Twinkle continues to show considerable support

for organizations, such as International Hunter Futurity, Sallie B Wheeler, Zone 10 or the Norcal finals. 2010, has been a long year for Twinkle, after LA National in 2009, Twinkle had a hip replacement, an unfortunate fall in December, she broke her femur and had to have her hip replaced all over again. That was then followed by a knee replacement, these things kept Twinkle out of the saddle for 2010. You could however still see Twinkle at the shows, showing support for her fellow competitors and watching Diane and Absolute Gold or Ragtime Cowboy with either Diane or Sue Lightner. As for 2011……we just have to wait and

see……. Above: Twinkle and Wellington. 42
