or the first time ever, those interested in entering the field of parent coaching can do so from the comfort of their own home. The Academy for Coaching Parents International (ACPI), under the direction of Dr. Caron B. Goode, will open the virtual doors to its online education portal on January 10, 2011.

since August, 2010 with students from the United States, Hong Kong, Canada and Slovenia enrolled, January 10, 2011 marks the public launch of the Academy’s online school. program to be available and affordable to those who have a real passion for making a difference in the lives of today’s families. “Providing individuals who have a genuine interest in making a difference with a quality education that fits their schedule and their budget has always been a priority.” said Dr. Goode. “Just as we have been traditionally preparing our students to be first-class parent coaches and fervent mentors since 2005, we will do the same for our students who are taking our coursework online” said Goode.

While some may think that an online education means a second-class education, Goode disagrees. “Going high tech doesn’t mean losing high touch” said Goode. For example, students at the Academy put their lessons into practice when meeting with course instructors via Skype and practicing coaching skills in real time.” The Academy for Coaching Parents International prides itself on providing this successful, new entrepreneurial business model for educating parent coaches who wish to launch their own coaching business. indication of how needed, wanted and necessary a quality online education for parent coaches is, ACPI’s online school will become a huge success. Katja Bezjak Draskovic, a student currently

enrolled in ACPI’s online school and taking classes from her home in Slovenia, believes “ACPI offers the whole package. From learning about coaching and child psychology, to learning about business and marketing, I am learning everything I need to know to be a successful parent, parent coach and to successfully start my own parenting coaching business.” While Dr. Goode sees the benefit of providing a quality education online, she also believes parent coaches can benefit from taking part in hands-on training. The Academy of Coaching Parents will hold its annual global 4-day training program in parent coaching and marketing July 14-17, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Express in Grapevine, Texas. “While not all of our online students may be able to attend our global training, those that can will find that pairing an online education with intensive hands-on training gives you the best of both worlds. It gives you a real opportunity to connect with other students you’ve been working with online and put what you have learned in the virtual classroom into practice and to the test.”
