Thanks to Dr. Patricia E. Bath’s imagination, many formerly blind people can now see. Her method of eye surgery allows surgeons to remove dam- aged or faulty parts of the eye and put in a new lens, something that scien- tists once claimed impossible. She once said, “The limits of science are not the limits of imagination.” Dr. Bath also co-founded the American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness.
