Oh no it isn't - Oh yes it is! In
1933 in the Kingdom of Muldovia, on the
‘The
Singing Vagabond’, Hollywood heartthrob Valentine Prince hears a 500 year old tale of a sleeping princess.
Princess
Crystal (Kamèla Harte) is the sleeping beauty, and Valentine Prince (Will Hawkes) as the prince is charged with waking her. He is accompanied by his co-star, Chesterfield (Andrew Hogarth), and his valet, as he sets out to wake the princess.
The Dame is Princess Crystal’s nanny Clara Crumpet and is played by experienced dame Stephen Clark. Stephen gave a marvellously camp performance as the dame last year.
The baddy is Morphina (Leigh Joyce) who is able to transform and change

all living things. Their sidekick is Snort the dragon (Rab Cowan). The princess’s parents are Queen Hilda (Rosie Smith) and King Edmund (Myles Ballisat).
There is a large cast including two teams of chorus made up of Bob Hope’s New Stagers, children from Happy Feet Academy, and local children.
They
have been rehearsing hard since early November.
This is another amazing pantomime, of
a classic fairy tale given a new twist, written and directed by John Goodwin, filled with typical pantomime humour, popular classic songs that all ages will recognise, and special effects, including the transformation of Snort.

It is choreographed by Larissa Webb, with costumes by Jackie Webb. Musical Director is Steve Trill.
There has been a pantomime every year since 1921. Tickets for this popular production always sell out fast. If you’d like to see it, you’d better wake up and get your skates on.
They’ve kept the
prices the same as last year, a bargain you shouldn’t miss.
