HEADS OR TAILS?
If you have ever tried to take a relaxing bath with anyone in a standard bathtub, you will know all too well that the experience is often anything but relaxing. No matter how you position yourself, what direction you face or where you put your legs, there simply isn’t enough room for two people. This was the inspiration for Italian designer Paolo Torelli when he came up with this idea for a concept bathtub suggestively called the Sixty 9. With two quite separate spaces, this bathtub is amply big enough for two people to comfortably enjoy a bath together.

PEDAL POWER
The Allaltezza washstand, designed by Mario Nanni for Rapsel, was presented as a prototype at Cersaie in Italy in late 2010. The freestanding basin is telescopically adjustable via the pneumatic foot pedal, which allows the height of the basin to be altered depending on the user. This means that kids and adults alike can use the basin in the most ergonomically suitable position. Allaltezza is suitable for both private and public use.

CREATIVE VAC FROM THE SEA
Since the 1950s, plastics have grown into a major industry that affects almost every aspect of our lives, from the packing that protects our goods to the textiles that we wear, and the multitude of new products and cutting edge technologies that we use today. In fact, since 1976, plastic has been the single most used material in the world. However, when plastic ends up in the wrong place it can present a serious problem, as can be seen with the large amounts of plastic waste that ends up in our oceans. To raise awareness of the global threat to our oceans
Electrolux recently partnered with a number of organisations to collect plastic from the Pacifi c, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The waste plastic that was collected - including packaging, bottles, toys, and toothbrushes - was then processed and made into a limited range of vacuum cleaners. The Green Range of vacuum cleaners from Electrolux is currently
made from 70 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic but the ultimate aim, according to Jonas Magnusson, Product Marketing Manager at Electrolux, is to get that fi gure up to 100 per cent.

Kora and Kalea, designed by Gian Vittorio Plazzogna, offer greater freedom of arrangement, making them more adaptable to the dimensions of contemporary homes and open plan kitchen-living room spaces.
