SMART HOCKEY
TEAGAN WAUGH NORTH ISLAND SILVERTIPS
Teagan Waugh is having a dream season. Through the first 10 weeks of the Major Midget League season, Waugh sits second in league scoring with 23 goals and 17 assists for a total of 40 points. Waugh has led the Silvertips to a 12-10-2 record which has them sixth in the tightly contested Major Midget League playoff race. That record represents a tremendous improvement from last season’s mark of 4-10-2 at the same point in the year.

“Teagan plays a selfless, passionate game and always puts the team first,” says North Island Silvertips head coach Steve Parsons. “He possesses a lethal combi- nation of speed and shooting ability. His dedication to the team game and the turn- around of the Silvertips is no coincidence.”
In addition to his tremendous play on the ice, Waugh is excelling just as much off of it. Teagan has been instrumental in working with the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association’s evaluation program as a mentor and coach. He has also become a leader in the peer tutoring program developed by the team.
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey.
