n 1987, Kelowna Packers graduate Kevin Tallefer was named the first recipient of the BCHL-Vancouver Canuck Alumni scholarship. In the


nearly 25 years since, 37 student ath- letes have benefited from the program,


which assists with funds towards tuition and expenses at Canadian and Ameri- can universities and colleges. While the program doesn’t discriminate based on where a player studies, the vast major- ity of awards have gone to players at-
