Its latest development allows weaving of up to 24 colours at a time with astounding results. “This leading edge technology means we can now digitally reproduce a photograph in Axminster to feature a great level of detail,” enthuses Bain. This will come as welcome news to the interior design industry. “We have tried to shape the Brintons service package so it is in keeping with what today’s hotel specifiers want,” he continues citing a recent collaboration with Paul Bevis Design at the Radisson Blu Ambassador Hotel in Paris. “This was a very successful project because the client was looking for exactly what we offer: skill in designing, managing a project, and delivering it efficiently and on time.” Brintons prides itself on the service it


provides and counts all the major hotel groups as satisfied customers. Recent clients


include The Doyle Collection, and the $6.59 billion Sentosa Resort in Singapore. The continuing work here involves working with Michael Graves Associates (MGA) and DP Design to design and deliver over 100,000m2 of Axminster for the six hotels, casino, ballroom, and countless restaurants. Aside from its hospitality projects, Brintons has just supplied what is believed to be the largest single commercial carpet order in the world – 175,000m2

Despite its global reach, Brintons remains


a family-run company based in the UK’s Midlands with designers working in key markets throughout the world. “This puts us in a unique position where we can draw on a design statement in any part of the world and create collections that are inspired by designers from each market,” says Bain. Inspiration too comes from the company’s

archives that date back to the 18th century. Access to this invaluable resource has recently been opened to the design industry through a new online design programme. Design Studio Online grants registered users access to more than 100,000 designs along with the ability to customise colours, order samples, and view in situ. This initiative marks the beginning of a fresh approach that allows the company to get closer to the design community. The philosophy has also been the catalyst in opening a London Design Centre, which according to reports has been well received. Bain is keen to make known that Brintons will continue to invest in design-led solutions, believing that emphasis on design is its key differentiator. And although it has had recent successes in the marine and airport markets, the more established hospitality sector remains at the forefront.
